HCL launches PC with one terabyte capacity
On July 16, 2007 HCL (India's oldest and local No 1 brand PC manufacturer) launched its PC with one terabyte storage (Hitachi Disk) at an entry level price of Rs 35,000. It is indeed interesting. Terabyte was a capacity that many organizations did not have. About 3,4 years back LIC (the largest Insurance company in India) talked of India's first terabyte data warehouse. To get such a capacity on the desktop is indeed remarkable, more so at a price of Rs 35,000! I still remember ordering "proudly" a 80MB hard disk for Rs 50,000 in 1993!
